Mini Pc as monitoring stations

Turn it on and setup without wi-fi

Rename PC to reflect purpose
Ex: Google-Ads-Monitoring-Station
This is so it will be identifiable on the network once we connect it to the network.

connect the pc to the internet, Make the IP static. So Remote Desktop can be used

make sure sleep is set to never and screen is set to never turn off

load which ever file necessary from the included zipped file to display directly to the C drive, alternatively you will be able to use a url.

create kiosk account.
Username: Kiosk
Password: kiosk
Pet: kiosk
City: kiosk
Nickname: kiosk

Make the Kiosk in settings. Set it up as 

run regedit
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Set the values for the following strings:

  • AutoAdminLogon: set value as 1

  • DefaultUserName: set value as Kiosk

  • DefaultPassword: set value as kiosk

  • Use this video as a reference to prevent further issues

In Windows Task Scheduler create a Power Off Program.

In Bios, set it to turn on.

 

Remote Desktop

Configure PC to Remote Desktop

  1. On PC navigate to "Network & internet > Wi-Fi > rocketsites.com"
  2. Turn off "Random hardware addresses"
  3. Edit network IP settings
    1. IP address should be "192.168.86.XXX" where you create an arbitrary three digit number
    2. Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0
    3. Gateway should be 192.168.0.1
    4. Preferred DNS should be 192.168.0.1
    5. Click save.
  4. Remember the IP address that you selected. As you will use it in the next step

Remote Desktop

Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app onto your computer, not the computer you wish to remote desktop into.

In settings configure user with:

  • username: Virteom
  • password: belikedan4U

Now add each computer

  1. Click the add button in the top of the window
  2. Click "Add PC"
  3. Insert IP address of computer as "PC name"
    1. Make sure "User account" is set to "Virteom"
